Vehicle inspection is the first step:
- All vehicles used for defendant transportation are inspected for a safety screen, making sure rear-seat handles and window controls are deactivated and all of the windows are intact and no weapons or contraband have been left behind or hidden in the vehicle.
- Prior to placing the defendant in the vehicle for transport and after the defendant has been delivered to the detention facility or other destination, the transporting bail enforcement agent at All American Bail Bonds in Santa Clarita will inspect the interior for weapons or contraband.
Handcuffing or use of restraints is the second step:
- All defendants will be handcuffed with their hands behind their back and palms facing outwards by bail enforcement agents at All American Bail Bonds in Santa Clarita.
- If the defendant is in an obvious state of pregnancy, has a physical handicap or has injuries that could be aggravated by standard handcuffing procedures, the defendant may be handcuffed from the front.
- If a defendant is violently resisting arrest or manifests mental disorders, such as he or she poses a threat to him or herself or the public, additional approved restraint devices may be used.
Transport is the last step:
- All defendants will be thoroughly searched for any weapons and contraband prior to transport.
- When transporting high-risk defendants or defendants over long distances, special precautions will be employed.
- During transit, the physical well being of defendants will be monitored and defendants will be transported in a manner that allows for constant visual observation.
- All defendants will never be left unattended during transport at anytime and will be secured in the vehicle with a seat belt.
